Backing up a Network Share with Jungle Disk is easy!
Step 1: You will need the UNC path of your Network Share. You can find this by going to Start and typing in 'cmd', then running the CMD (command prompt) program. Once the Command Prompt opens, type "net use" (no quotations). Your results will look like this:
For this example, I will be backing up a folder on my Media Server's "Internal1" drive that I have mapped to my machine as a Network Share. Copy down the UNC path of the Network Share you want to back up. Mine is \\MEDIASERVER\Internal1.
Step 2: Enter the Jungle Disk Configure menu.
- Backup Vault:
Here, hit the + next to your Backup Vault and click "What to Backup", and then choose "Add or Change Backup Folders".
- Legacy Backup:
Here, hit the + next to your Online Disk, hit + next to Legacy Backup, and click "What to Backup", and then choose "Add or Change Backup Folders".
Step 3: In this window, hit the + next to "All Folders", and then click "Network Shares". Enter the UNC path of your Network Share, and then enter any login credentials if needed.
Now, you can see that we can choose the Network Share to be backed up! Yay!
Step 4: Finally, drill into that Network Share, choose the folders you want backed up, and hit OK. Now the directories that you chose on your Network Share will be included in your Backup Job!
