Overview
To collect license information and some of the metrics displayed in our portal, CyberFortress requires a setting to be enabled within Veeam that installs a reporting agent that communicates via the Cloud Connect protocol. This guide will walk you through how to enable this setting if you do not wish to run our EXE that enables it. If you do wish to run the EXE that enables it seamlessly, the EXE file is attached at the bottom of this page. You only need to choose one of these methods.
Enabling Remote Reporting Manually vs the EXE
- Launch the Veeam Backup and Replication console.
Open the Backup Infrastructure view. Select the Service Providers node in the inventory pane and find your entry.
- Modify an existing CyberFortress provider by right-clicking and selecting "Properties..."
- Check the box for "Allow this Veeam Backup & Replication installation to be managed by the service provider". This will allow the reporting agent to be installed, but won't allow for remote access to your VBR server, as we do not have credentials for your server.
- Click "Next" and "Apply" through the rest of these screens. You should then see a process begin that says "Updating remote management setting". This means the reporting agent is installing.
- When this completes, click "Next", then "Finish". The reporting agent installation is now complete.
