Table of Contents
You can view a statistical summary of your backup set usage over any date range in two ways: remotely through the AhsayCBS User Web Console in a standard web browser, or locally within the AhsayOBM or AhsayACB client application. Both methods let you filter by backup set, destination, and time period.
Method 1 — AhsayCBS User Web Console (Browser)
Use this method to check your statistics remotely from any web browser, without opening the client application.
- Log in to the AhsayCBS User Web Console using your backup account login name and password.
- Click the User icon on the main dashboard.
- Select Statistics from the left-hand menu panel.
- Configure your report options to customize the view:
- Select a destination: Choose the storage location you want to inspect.
- Select a backup set: Choose a specific backup set, or select All backup sets to view aggregated data.
- Period: Specify the date range during which the backups were performed.
- View: Select your preferred format — Graph or Table.
- Review the results. If you selected Table view, the summary is displayed across five columns (see the table below).
Understanding the Tabular Summary Columns
| Column | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Data Area | Compressed size, uncompressed size, compression ratio, and total number of files currently backed up (including any files held in the Retention Area). |
| Recycle Bin | Compressed size and total file count of deleted block (.bak) files retained as added protection. |
| Total Upload | A lifetime counter showing the cumulative compressed size and number of all files ever uploaded for the backup set. |
| Total Restore | A lifetime counter showing the total number of files and cumulative compressed size of data successfully restored. |
| Dedupe Saving | Total dedupe size versus original size, alongside the deduplication ratio percentage. |
Method 2 — AhsayOBM / AhsayACB Client Application (Desktop)
Use this method to view usage directly within the desktop client on the local machine running agent-based backups.
- Open and log in to the AhsayOBM or AhsayACB client application on the local computer.
- Click the Report icon on the main dashboard.
- Select the Usage option from the left-side panel.
- Configure your view filters at the top of the page:
- Select a backup set: Choose the specific backup set you want to analyze.
- Select a destination: Choose the storage location you want to check.
- Period: Specify the date range of the statistics you want to display.
- Review the Storage Statistics. The graph displays the Total Size — the total volume of backed-up data stored in the selected destination.
- Analyze Daily Data Transfer details. Hover your mouse pointer over any specific date on the graph to open a pop-up detailing the exact data transferred that day (see definitions below).
Understanding the Daily Data Transfer Pop-up
| Value | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Backup | The amount of data uploaded to the backup destination on that date. |
| Restore | The amount of data downloaded from the backup destination for restores on that date. |
| Utilities | The amount of data downloaded from the destination to perform utility operations, such as running a Data Integrity Check (DIC) with the Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC) option enabled. |
Note: Storage statistics are automatically updated every time a Backup job, Data Integrity Check (DIC), Periodic Data Integrity Check (PDIC), Space Freeing Up, or Delete Backup Data job runs. If your figures look out of date, run one of these jobs to refresh them.
